Kia Seltos & Carens Clavis EV to Get New Variants in India – Key Details Inside

Kia India is gearing up to expand its popular Seltos SUV and Carens Clavis EV portfolios with new feature-rich variants. While the company has not officially confirmed the launch yet, reports suggest that the Seltos could soon receive a new top-spec trim, while the Carens Clavis EV may debut in sportier GT Line and premium X-Line versions. Here’s everything you need to know about these upcoming updates.


New Kia Seltos Top Variant (GTX Plus) – Features & Updates

The upcoming top-end trim, likely to be named Kia Seltos GTX Plus, is expected to come loaded with advanced technology and premium features. Key highlights may include:

  • Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
  • 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat
  • Stylish 18-inch alloy wheels
  • LED projector headlamps
  • Enhanced safety features under ADAS suite

In terms of design, the overall look of the Seltos will largely remain the same. However, minor cosmetic tweaks and a new exterior colour option are expected. Like the existing GT Line variant, the GTX Plus trim will likely feature a sporty, all-black interior theme.

Under the hood, the 2026 Kia Seltos will continue with its existing engine lineup:

  • 1.5L NA Petrol – 115 bhp / 144 Nm
  • 1.5L Turbo Petrol – 160 bhp / 253 Nm
  • 1.5L Diesel – 116 bhp / 250 Nm

Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, iMT, CVT, 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.


Kia Carens Clavis EV GT Line & X-Line – Performance & Range

Kia is also expected to introduce GT Line and X-Line variants of the Carens Clavis EV, aimed at buyers looking for a more premium and sporty electric MPV.

These variants will be powered by a 51.4kWh battery pack paired with a 171 bhp electric motor, offering:

  • Claimed ARAI range of up to 490 km
  • 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 8.4 seconds

The EV will also feature:

  • 4 levels of regenerative braking (controlled via paddle shifters)
  • Steering-mounted drive selector for ease of use

For charging, the Carens Clavis EV will support:

  • 7.4 kW and 11 kW AC chargers
  • 10% to 100% charging in approximately 4 hours 45 minutes

Additionally, the EV will come equipped with V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality, allowing users to power external devices directly from the car.
