BMW Speedtop Concept Design Patented in India Ahead of Possible Launch

  • Concept Showcased in Italy
  • Claimed to Feature BMW’s Most Powerful V8

BMW has patented its latest Speedtop concept in India, hinting at a potential arrival of the exclusive model in the country. The concept was first unveiled at the 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este—the prestigious celebration of historic automobiles held at Lake Como, Italy—where BMW showcased the next-generation design study as a limited-edition luxury offering.

Originally planned as a 70-unit limited run, the patent filing in India signals BMW’s intent to protect the Speedtop’s design locally and could also indicate a possible increase in production numbers. Design highlights include a distinctive V-shaped shark-nose front, sharp LED headlamps, an illuminated kidney grille, dual-tone 14-spoke alloy wheels, aerodynamic winglets, and an overall silhouette inspired by the BMW Skytop concept.

Inside, the BMW Speedtop concept features a premium cabin with dual-tone leather upholstery, a matching leather headliner, illuminated luggage compartment, and bespoke leather accents, underlining its ultra-luxury positioning.

On the mechanical front, BMW claims the Speedtop will be powered by the brand’s most powerful V8 engine, further fuelling excitement among enthusiasts. While the model remains in the concept stage for now, a more detailed showcase and potential production-spec reveal are expected at a later date.
